A Little Bit About Storming Crab — How It Started
Storming Crab started its journey with the first location in Clarksville, Tennessee. Gradually, it expanded across the country, and the Pigeon Forge location is their 27th branch. In the busy tourist area of the Smoky Mountains, thousands of people visit every day, and the restaurant became popular in just 3.5 weeks—which you can tell by looking at the numerous signatures on the walls.
Open Hours — Are They Open Every Day?
Storming Crab is open every day:
- Sunday–Thursday: 11:30 AM – 10 PM
- Friday–Saturday: 11:30 AM – 11 PM
Excitingly, this year, Storming Crab stayed open on Thanksgiving for the first time. So if you visit the mountains with family during the holidays, you can enjoy a full seafood experience even on festive days.
Do They Take Reservations?
The restaurant is mainly walk-in friendly; however, reservations are taken for groups of 10 or more. For large parties, they have 8-top and 6-top tables, plus a 14-seater meeting room.
Are They Doing Anything Special for the Holidays?
Currently, there’s no special holiday discount or separate holiday menu. However, starting December, their bar will officially open with some seasonal festive drinks.
Storming Crab Pigeon Forge FULL Menu

The menu is extensive—Appetizers, Fried Baskets, Soups & Sides, Seafood Boils, Dinner Combos, Drinks, and Desserts—all clearly organized. Prices are market-based and may vary daily.
Our First Time at Storming Crab — What’s the Must-Try Item?
Manager Lely suggested Dinner Combo #6 or #7 for first-timers. With snow crab, shrimp, lobster tail, and sides, Combo #7 is the perfect balance of the three.
Wonderful! Does Your Seafood Come in Fresh? How Often?
Seafood arrives fresh twice a week—Monday and Tuesday. Crawfish comes live depending on the season, and all cooking preparation in the restaurant is fresh. Lobster and other items are also cooked fresh.
Appetizers & Appetizer Sampler

Among appetizers, the most popular is Seafood Bread—cheesy, garlicky, and packed with crab meat, also served complimentary.
Other items include:
- Boudin Balls (Cajun sausage + rice, deep-fried)
- Pick 2 / Pick 3 Sampler – perfect for first-time visitors to try multiple items at once.
Fried Baskets

The Fried Catfish Basket is a guest favorite—four large fillets, perfectly crisp outside and soft inside. Sides can be swapped for onion rings, hush puppies, or other fried items.
Soups & Sides

Three key items here:
- Cajun Fried Rice (with pork sausage; can be served without sausage on request)
- Gumbo with Rice
- Clam Chowder
All dishes are known for balanced spice.
Dinner Combos

Dinner combos are the main attraction. Combo #7 includes lobster tail, snow crab, shrimp, and sides like corn, potatoes, and sausage. The value is high according to market price—portions are large and shareable, not cartoon-sized.
If Someone Has Gluten Intolerance or an Allergy — How Do They Handle It?
- The seafood boil section is completely gluten-free as it is not fried.
- Fried items contain gluten.
- For seafood allergies:
✔ Cooking in a separate wok
✔ Vegetable boil option
✔ Safe sides like broccoli, potatoes, corn, eggs with butter toss
Everything is prepared safely.
Seafood

Each seafood item—snow crab, shrimp, lobster—is cooked with Cajun seasoning and flavor options. The mild flavor is the most popular.
Guys Have Some Drinks — Any Recommendations?

Signature drinks at the bar:
- Shark Bite Margarita
- Relax Jack
- Mad Andy
- Hurricane Jay
These are handcrafted cocktails. Mocktails and tap beers will also be available once the bar is fully open.
Celebrate Birthdays & Anniversaries
🎉 Storming Crab has a special show for birthdays. Staff wear shark hats, play drums, sing, and surprise guests. It’s a fantastic experience for families and kids.
Seafood Bread

This is the restaurant’s signature appetizer—garlic, mayonnaise, Italian seasoning, and snow crab meat blended into cheesy bread. Guests have described it as “ooey-gooey goodness.”
Dinner Combo #7
Every item in this combo is unique and special:
Shrimp – headless, deveined, perfectly cooked, and juicy with seasoning absorbed.

Broccoli – highly flavorful and well-seasoned.

Egg – simple hard-boiled egg with a mild coat of seafood butter and seasoning.

Potatoes – Cajun heat noticeable even in mild flavor.

Pork Sausage – Cajun-flavored, perfect for red beans & rice lovers.

Corn – sauce fully absorbed, giving a perfect Cajun bite.

Lobster – split lobster tail, sweet, tender, buttery, perfectly seasoned.

Crab – snow crab cracking experience with garlic butter; transcript notes this as the most enjoyable part.

Oysters – grilled oysters are good, though slightly less preferred than shrimp, lobster, and crab; still delightful for oyster lovers.

Tiramisu – cupcake-style dessert, rich, creamy, and soft. Birthday ice cream was also popular.
